10.OPINIONS OF THE SUBJECTS
The author presented the project by standard procedure to Holy Archpriest Synod
of the Serbian Orthodox Church via its official in charge eparchy Archpriest, Bishop
of Eparchy of Backa His Holiness Irinej (Irinaeus) proposing that the project be
supported by the Serbian Orthodox Church and that it be the initiator of a new era
of peacemaking globalization of Christianity. Bishop of Backa, His Holiness Irinej
informed the author that the project was proceeded to the Holy Archpriest Synod.
The Holy Archpriest Synod has not officially replied the author yet.
The opinions of other relevant institutions on the level of the Republic of Serbia:
Ministry of Religious Confessions of the Republic of Serbia expressed it
full understanding of the idea of construction of the Temple of all-Christian reconciliation
and suggested that the author coordinate his efforts with the Bishop of Srem Vasilije
(Vasily), in order that the idea of the construction of the Temple of all-Christian
reconciliation on the territory of Eparchy of Srem could be realized in the best possible
way and in the shortest possible term. In 2004 the Ministry expressed affirmative
opinion from the aspect of strengthening of present religious tolerance on the territory
of Vojvodina and the construction of a multi-confessional society according to European
standards. It also emphasizes that it is not in its jurisdiction to resolve the claims
of a kind and that it is necessary the coordination of efforts with the Bishop in charge
who will bring the adequate decision in accordance with higher Church officials.
Royal Office of HRM Crown Prince Alexander emphasized that will present the answer
just after considering the official attitude of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Geographic Institute "Jovan Cvijic" of Serbian Academy of Arts and Science
answered affirmatively about the project, under the condition that the organizational
aspects in Section "a" Article 5 of this Invitation are maintained. It is to say they
support the author`s attitude that the project is not to be built by the method of
shares or any other way that could enable the complex of a kind to become a polygon
for demonstrating the power of earthly interests.
Ministry of Capital Investments of the Republic of Serbia expressed understanding
of the idea and emphasized that the realization of the project on the territory of Serbia
could represent a capital investment which would significantly contribute to the
development of economy, and later tourism as well.
The opinions of relevant institutions on the level of Vojvodina
Provincial Secretariat for Local Self-government and Inter-Municipal Cooperation was
of the opinion that the realization of the project in completely in accordance with Vojvodina`s
multy-culturalism and multy-flexionality, and that the existence of such a complex would
contribute to further affirmation of Vojvodina as a traditionally ecumenical environment.
Provincial Secretariat for Economy supports initiated activities and emphasizes
that it is at disposal for operative realization.
Provincial Secretariat for Architecture, Town Planning and Construction also supports further
research-animation activities and the promotion of the project.
Chamber for Economy of Vojvodina emphasizes that the project realization is
not in the immediate scope of activities of the Chamber for Economy, but that it
generally supports the project for it could be of interest for economy and functional
for the development of some branches of economy - from construction industry to tourism.
Urban Planners Union expressed its support to the project and at the same time
pointed at certain possible problems with finding the area and finances.
Foreign relevant factors that published their standpoints:
Roman Catholic theologist Professor Dr Hans Kung (whose attitude is that
there is no peace in the world without peace among religions) affirmed the benefit
of this project for Christianity, but finds that its realization could face financial problems.
President of Pan European Union Dr Otto v. Habsburg. thanked most warmly
for the information about the project which showed a deep ideal to him, but he sees
no chances for its realization because of the attitude of Moscow.
Moscow Patriarchy emphasized that the consideration of the project is principally
possible just after the knowing of the official attitude of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Huan Carlos, King of Spain thanked for the letter and enclosed bilingual book The
conceptual design of the Temple of all-Christian meting and reconciliation "St. John
the Baptist" and sends warmly regards to the author of the project.
Carl XVI Gustaf Hubertus, King of Sweden thanked for the letter and enclosed
bilingual book The conceptual design of the temple of all-Christian meeting and
reconciliation "St. John the Baptist".
The Congress of the Serbs of Eurasia, a representative body of the Serbian
university diaspora in their letter dated on 2nd November 2004 empasizes that it
is fully aware of greateness and necessity of the construction of the Temple of
all-Christian meeting and reconciliation which would in the first place unite
all the Serbs of the world and the country, and afterwards all brotherly and
less brotherly Christian people as well.
Serbia exhausted by wars could in the future become an economically awaken,
touristically interesting country, a country of reconciliating pilgrimage of the
nations of the world.
The Congerss of the Serbs of Eurasia will closely observe further realization
of this ambitious and brave project of Mr. V. Devic and help so that the realization
of it become of interest to all the Serbs and friends on all the four continents,
therefore its construction in our country to start as soon as possible.
